V Creations' Kanthaswamy is a grand production by Kalaipuli.S.Thanu and directed by Susi.Ganesan. This Vikram-Shriya starrer deals with the permanent difference in status between the rich and the poor that remains as one of the pivotal problems in society. It finds answers to the question whether the gap can be bridged by able management and planned distribution of wealth. The Kanthaswamy music release took place in a grand fashion yesterday. The album has eight songs composed by Devi Sri Prasad; of them, four are sung by hero Vikram.

‘Yem peru Meenakumari’ is the Mumaith Khan number on the screen. Sung by Malathy, the song packs a lot of power and glamour in its presentation. ‘Excuse Me’ in Vikram and Sucithra’s combination is a dance number. The song lyrics explain the way the heroine tries to attract the hero’s attention and consent for a hot date with her. ’Kanthaswamy’, a DSP remix, is the alluring number that finds place in the trailer and film promos. The song is rendered by Devi Sri Prasad and has a lot of ‘ah’ factor in it. Musically speaking, ‘Mambo Mamiya’ is one of Devi Sri Prasad’s instrumental extravaganzas. Vikram’s voice brings about an exotic feel to the song. Rita, as usual, does her bit sufficiently well along with Vikram. Again, when we hear Rita in ‘Allegro’, we experience a different kind of singing. After an interesting list of snack delicacies that Viveka expounds in one breath comes ‘Idellam Dupe’ in Vikram’s magnetic voice. Kanthasamy theme music and ‘Meow Meow’ in Vikram and Priya Hemesh’s voices that follow are a pure treat for rhythm-lovers.

Kanthasamy team shooting in Kenya

Kathaswamy crew which is shooting for the past 35 days for the movie was all set to fly to Kenya for the shooting there. They have postponed the shooting in Kenya now due to the ongoing political turmoil in Kenya.

Kandasamy stars Vikram and Sherya in the lead role and is being directed by Susi Ganesan. Raghuvaran, Vivek, Santhanam,
Vinod Raj, Y G Mahendran, Arun Mathavan, Vinayak, Alex will also be seen in supporting roles in the movie. Produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu, this film has music by Devisri Prasad.

The manager of the unit is currently in Kenya updating the team on the ongoing developments. The crew will continue its shooting in Chennai and will fly to Kenya only when the violence in Kenya comes to a halt.

Kandasamy has probably had the most flashy pre-shooting publicity drive in recent Kollywood history. The costumes for the stars and the support artists of the trailer itself were procured from Bangkok, Malaysia and Italy. Vikram’s father Vinothraj is to play an important role in the film Kandaswamy.

Kanthasamy Budget For 4.01 Crores

ikram’s Kanthasamy movie Chennai theatrical rights has been purchased by Abirami Ramanathan from producer Kalaipuli.S Thanu for a whopping price of 4.01 crores. Lastly Abirami Ramanathan purchased Rajini starrer Sivaji Chennai city rights for a record price of Rs 6 crore.

Kanthaswamy is directed by Susi Ganesan, who with this movie will direct his fourth film. Vikram acts in the lead role, whilst Shriya Saran, Krishna, Ashish Vidyarthi, Indrajith Sukumaran, Prabhu Ganesan and Vivek also play roles in the film. The film’s soundtrack and background score will be composed by Devi Sri Prasad. The film is also to be released as Mallana in Telugu.

The inaugural function of the much-expected Kanthaswamy took place on September 24th at the Devi Complex in Chennai city. Earlier the invitation card, which featured the trailer of the film, was the talk of the town. But to crown it all, the inaugural function also turned out to be a unique affair. The Kanthaswamy team has done something that no other film team has even dared to think.

Yes, they have adopted two villages near Madurai - Sangampatti and Gandhi Nagar - to provide basic amenities like school and proper roads among other things to the villagers. This idea was mooted by the director, Susi Ganesan, which the producer, ‘Kalaipuli’ S. Dhanu readily agreed to. A few people from these villages were also present during the event.

Commenting on a scene where Vikram appears dressed up as a female, noted-lyricist Vairamuthu said that though Sivaji, MGR, Rajini, and Kamal had all done this before, it suited Vikram better. On a lighter vein, he added that Vikram should henceforth be careful not only among women but men too.

The lead pair, Vikram and Shriya, performed a dance for the audience. KRG, president, Film Chamber, directors Shankar, S.A. Chandrasekar, producer R.B. Choudhary addressed the gathering. Director, Susi Ganesan delivered the vote of thanks.
