Kanthaswamy team adopts two villages

The inaugural function of the much-expected Kanthaswamy took place on September 24th at the Devi Complex in Chennai city. Earlier the invitation card, which featured the trailer of the film, was the talk of the town. But to crown it all, the inaugural function also turned out to be a unique affair. The Kanthaswamy team has done something that no other film team has even dared to think.

Yes, they have adopted two villages near Madurai - Sangampatti and Gandhi Nagar - to provide basic amenities like school and proper roads among other things to the villagers. This idea was mooted by the director, Susi Ganesan, which the producer, ‘Kalaipuli’ S. Dhanu readily agreed to. A few people from these villages were also present during the event.

Commenting on a scene where Vikram appears dressed up as a female, noted-lyricist Vairamuthu said that though Sivaji, MGR, Rajini, and Kamal had all done this before, it suited Vikram better. On a lighter vein, he added that Vikram should henceforth be careful not only among women but men too.

The lead pair, Vikram and Shriya, performed a dance for the audience. KRG, president, Film Chamber, directors Shankar, S.A. Chandrasekar, producer R.B. Choudhary addressed the gathering. Director, Susi Ganesan delivered the vote of thanks.
